Chevrolet Silverado EV electric 2024: price and first information

Two powerful engines

The electric Chevrolet Silverado gets off to a flying start with its first version, the RST First Edition. Equipped with all option packages, it also strikes a blow with an exhilaratingly powerful powertrain. In fact, its battery will enable it to develop up to 660 horsepower and 780 lb-ft of torque!

Did you think that only sports cars could deliver acceleration worthy of the name? Think again: the truck takes just 4.5 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h! After this model, scheduled for 2024, a more affordable version, called WT (Work Truck), will be launched in 2025. On board, you'll enjoy 510 hp and 615 lb-ft of power.
Primarily intended for workers, the electric truck will also offer towing capacities to match. For the time being, the WT's maximum capacity is announced at 8,000 lb, while the payload amounts to 1,200 lb in the bed.

However, those with greater needs will be served a little later, with a WT version capable of towing up to 20,000 lb! As for the first RST model, it can tow 10,000 lb and carry loads of 1,300 lb.

Range is a key issue when it comes to new electric models, and the Chevrolet truck doesn't disappoint: it can cover distances of up to 640 km on a single charge! Using a 350 kW fast-charging station, the electric Chevrolet Silverado can regain 160 km of range in 10-minute increments. Chevrolet is also announcing the possibility of four-wheel steering to facilitate maneuvering and cornering. And, of course, all-wheel drive is available for off-road adventures. Is your daily life full of obstacles? You can opt for the adaptive suspension, which raises the vehicle by 50 mm.

Technologies of the future

Inside, an all-new Silverado awaits you. What strikes you first is the first edition's imposing central screen, measuring no less than 17 inches! This is in addition to a fully digitized 11-inch instrument cluster. Other versions feature an 11-inch central screen and 8-inch instrumentation.

Chevrolet will mix familiar technologies with brand-new features with the Ultifi software. Not much is known about the latter, other than that it will allow you to download new applications and take advantage of new functionalities. For the more familiar, the system includes integrated Google, including Google Maps for navigation, Google Play and the Google Assistant for intuitive, natural use. So technology is front and center!
And let's not forget the optional integration of Super Cruise technology. This semi-autonomous driving feature recognizes over 320,000 km of highways in Canada and the USA, and is able to drive your vehicle for you. Peace of mind reaches new heights.

A successful design

In addition to technology, the new electric Chevrolet Silverado EV also boasts an updated interior that's particularly spacious for its passengers. The size of the center console has been increased to give you even more storage space, and the cabin is trimmed in black and white leather. An all-glass roof is even available!

On the outside, the truck features a luminous stripe at the front, including an illuminated logo, linking two slimmed-down headlights. Truck design must also consider practicality, and this is the case with the Multi-Flex tailgate. This allows the tailgate to be opened to carry longer objects, while the rear seats can be folded down.

And the price of the Chevrolet Silverado EV electric?

The price of the electric Chevrolet Silverado will vary greatly depending on the model chosen. It goes without saying that the RST First Edition will be the most expensive, with a starting price of $119,948. The more affordable WT version will start at $52,448.
